At Eriswell Lodge we offer a variety of tuition and experience packages designed to suit all levels and abilities of shooters.
Sadly due to Covid-19 we are currently unable to run our experience sessions, or instruction for those under intermediate level. We will update our Covid-19 page with changes as soon as they happen.
Meet Our Instructors
After coaching independently at local clubs in East Anglia for several years, in 2016 Tosh joined the team at Eriswell Lodge. He sees himself as a ‘sort of’clay shooting midwife – ‘safely bringing people into the world of clay target shooting’, adapting to their specific needs and helping to build confidence and self belief. Tosh is a Qualified CPSA Instructor and also an Associate of the Institute of Clay Shooting Instructors. Last year his year was topped of with being nominated for CPSA Coach of the Year.
A Gamekeeper by trade, Shaun is an APSI qualified instructor.
Whilst he has a passion for game shooting, he is also a clay instructor. Shaun has been teaching for many years, and since coming to Eriswell Lodge he is one of our go-to instructors from new shooters up to intermediates, as well as those looking to learn the art of game shooting or brush up before the season!
Melissa has been immersed in the shooting industry her entire life, and is an APSI qualified instructor.
Melissa instructs shooters from complete beginners to more intermediate shooters, who are moving into the competition world and would like further knowledge on score improvements. Melissa also runs our Eriswell Lodge Ladies Shooting events.
Stuart is a competitive shooter that specialises in the sporting disciplines, but shoots multiple disciplines at all levels. He is a qualified instructor Member under the Association of Professional Shooting Instructors (APSI), and also a FITASC level 1 Instructor.
Stuart specialises in working with the more advanced level of shooter looking to improve their scores in the disciplines of English Sporting, Sportrap, FITASC Sporting, and Compak Sporting. The sessions with Stuart will involve development of technique, but will also place emphasis on competition management.

Shot before and now looking to improve your skills and ability?
Beginner to novice tuition is offered by our in house instructors. These are ideal for those who are new to the clay shooting world, or are struggling with the basics and are the ideal carry on from our have-a-go sessions. Lessons can be tailored to you and can build on existing knowledge or extend what you know until you are consistently hitting clays.
We also offer intermediate and above instruction, this is for those who are shooting regularly and are struggling with a specific target or discipline. Again we like to tailor these sessions to suit your abilities or desires, so please let us know any specific requirements upon booking so we can match you with an instructor who is best suited to you. We advise that these sessions are booked on a 1:1 basis to ensure you learn enough from your session to improve your shooting.
Tuition starts from £35 per hour for non-members (£30 for members), all of our in house tuition is plus the cost of clays and cartridges.
All lessons require 1 hour per person attending the session, so if you would like a lesson with a friend or family member then please note you will need to book a session for the total length of time (e.g. 3 people would need a 3 hour session). This is so we can ensure all members of the lesson get enough dedicated time with the instructor in order to improve your skills.
The number of clays per session will vary depending on your ability, approximately it would be 50 for a beginner and up to 100 for an intermediate. If you do not have your own gun, they are available as part of your lesson just please let us know in advance.
Contact us today to discuss your requirements or to book!
Please note that a £20 per person deposit will be required at the time of booking for all lessons and have-a-go sessions. If you cancel over 48 hours in advance this will be refunded to you, however if you cancel within 48 hours of your booking time the deposit will become non-refundable.
Gift Cards are available for both Experience Sessions and Lessons, if you think these would make the perfect gift!
